Our Engineering Manager, Ben Parisot is heading to Let’s Build with AI, an AI Networking/Jam Sesh in Portland on December 2 to talk to local people building with AI and work on some Planet Argon workflow automations!

We've confirmed two of our team members, Evaldo Klock and Jaison Coelho, will be attending Tropical on Rails next year! More on this coming soon!

Our developer, Evaldo Klock is preparing to attend Laracon, the largest Laravel developer event in Europe, next spring!

SF Ruby in San Francisco

In November, we sponsored and attended the SF Ruby Conference, a gathering that reminded us why this community has so much heart. We left feeling energized, inspired, and grateful to be part of a group that values stewardship, craft, and collaboration.

XO Ruby in our hometown of Portland, Oregon!

Planet Argon was proud to sponsor XO Ruby in our hometown. Robby was even there in attendance. This cozy, conversation-driven event is all about connecting with fellow Rubyists and sharing tech talks. Organized by Flagrant, this event was a chance for Rubyists of all experience levels to connect, share stories, and spark new ideas without the rush of a huge conference.

Rails World 2025 in Amsterdam

Robby Russell hosted Ruby & Rails, a Chat with Maintainers, bringing together Aaron Patterson, Jean Boussier, and Hiroshi Shibata for a lively conversation about the future of Ruby and Rails. They shared ideas for making the community more welcoming, the tools more helpful, and the experience of building with Ruby and Rails even more enjoyable for developers everywhere. The talk is available now on Youtube.

RailsConf 2025 in Philadelphia

This year, we were thrilled to be part of the conversation—Robby Russell took the stage with his talk, "The Rails Features We Loved, Lost, and Laughed At". Fellow team members Liz Pantalone and William Mena joined in, making the most of every opportunity to learn, connect, and give back to the community that continues to inspire our work.

MenderCon2025 Virtual Unconference

MenderCon is a virtual "unconference" dedicated to the craft of maintaining and improving software over time. Bringing together engineers, managers, and technical leaders, this event explores best practices for long-term software sustainability. We collaborated with the MenderCon team to create their marketing materials leading up to the event for the second consecutive year, and Ben Parisot delivered a helpful talk on building a VS Code Extension in 30 minutes.

Tropical on Rails in SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil

Tropical on Rails 2025 was a Ruby on Rails conference that brought together developers in the vibrant city of SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil. Hosted at the Pullman Vila OlĂ­mpia, this event combined expert tech talks with a lively atmosphere, networking, and a touch of Brazilian warmth. We were not only sponsors of this event for the second year in a row, but we also sent fellow Planet Argonauts Jaison Coelho and Evaldo Klock.

Rails Girls in SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil

In this one-day workshop, women in the Rails community gathered to dive into the magical world of Ruby on Rails. Though we didn't attend, we are proud sponsors of Rails Girls and their initiative to invite more women into the world of coding.

SquiggleConf in Boston, MA, USA

As Oh My Zsh passed its 15th anniversary, its creator and Planet Argon’s CEO, Robby Russell, shared insights into its success and valuable lessons you can apply to your own open source projects.

RailsWorld Toronto, Canada

Three Argonauts tracked to Toronto for this annual two-day, two-track community conference- Robby and two of our Software Developers, William Mena and William Weber. They enjoyed technical talks, demos, workshops, networking, and keynotes about the latest features and best practices in Rails development- like the release of Rails 8.0 Beta. Robby shared his thoughts on why you should never ever rewrite your legacy codebase, but instead, steer your Rails app out of technical debt.

There's a lot of excitement and energy in the Rails community around several key advancements, reflecting both technical innovations and the framework’s continued evolution- we're happy to be a part of it!

Ruby Conf Africa in Nairobi, Kenya

This two-day conference, held in Nairobi, Kenya, was for developers, designers, and entrepreneurs from all across Africa who discussed the theme "Agile, Open Source, and Entrepreneurship." With over 150 attendees, the event was a big success, and we're proud to have sponsored it!

The Merge in Berlin, Germany

This conference featured top speakers from the tech industry with the chance to connect with a vibrant community of fellow developers and dev rel professionals. Our CEO, Robby Russell, talked about what it’s like to create one of the most popular open-source projects, Oh My Zsh.

RailsConf in Detroit, USA

The world's largest gathering of Rails developers gathered to further discuss and learn about building, managing, and testing Rails applications. Our CEO, Robby Russell, shared a fun recap of the event as well as some news and upcoming changes in the Rails world. Also, in case you missed it, we launched the 2024 Ruby on Rails Community Survey, so be sure to fill it out and share it with your friends and peers!

Tropical.rb in SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil

We proudly sponsored this impactful event in São Paulo, Brazil this year! Planet Argon’s CEO, Robby Russell,, hosted an AMA panel discussion with members of the Rails Foundation. Our Senior Software Developer, Jaison Coelho, was also in attendance. Returning with new knowledge and a handful of new friends, we're already looking forward to next year!

Rails World in Amsterdam

A community conference featuring technical talks, demos, workshops, networking, and keynotes about the latest features and best practices in Rails development. There were 700+ Rails developers in attendance, 29 speakers, and one big birthday celebration. Planet Argon was a Contributing Sponsor, and Robby Russell was the moderator for the AMA Panel.

This regional conference for Ruby software engineers was a great place to meet fellow Ruby lovers. Our CEO, Robby Russell, was in attendance with a smile on his face and a bunch of Oh My Zsh stickers in his pocket!
